Red Ultimatum to Humankind

The world climate is not in a good manner nowadays. What we bequeath our sons won't be a source of pride for them at all. Our generation assumes heavy responsibility in front of God and history for what is running and will occur in the near future.

Neither the international conferences,  nor summits, nor scientific brochures, nor activities of the world civil society, nor a repeated frequent warning of international organizations such as the United Nations (UN), nor the sequent reports succeeded in stopping climate change which becomes catastrophic and speedy now compared to the past.

Over a recent UN report, experts indicate that those changes in the world climate will continue at an ascending pace during the future to increase their effects on man through upping the frequency of numerous hard meteorological and climate phenomena such as swashing glaciers and rising the level of water in oceans.

Those problems will remain insoluble forever.

The temperature of the world will rise by 1.5 C and freak heatwaves will frequent every 10 years due to global heating.

Also, drought and heavy rain will become more frequent.

Human activities cause all those catastrophes which make General-Secretary of the UN  António Guterres commented on the report of the organization as saying it is a red ultimatum to humankind, as the bells of warning toll in a deafening tone because emissions of global heating that resulting from fossil fuel and deforesting suffocate our planet.

Sorrowfully, the world doesn't learn the lesson.

We were among those optimists in the near future after the repercussions of the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19).

We said then that the health of the environment will equal the health of humans which means the serious handling of climate change and eradicating the risks that threaten countries of the world such as fierce storms, sweeping wildfires, floods, waves of drought which are all related to climate change in addition to air pollution resulted from combusting fossil fuel.

We bet on an overwhelming government method in most countries of the world but those countries adopt climate policies at the core of their national security system and their internal planning.

Recently, we had seen US President Joe Biden announced a new package of executive measurements to face climate change.

Those measurements include stopping of licensing of new projects of natural gas and oil on federal lands and slashing subsidies of extracting the fossil fuel.

The UN report, sorrowfully, indicates the absence of comprehensive government methods, even the new plan of President Biden couldn't stop this dangerous tsunami which make the pessimists more pessimistic and carry the optimists to the place of pessimists.

Interferences of the experts could be followed within the frame of the International Union for Conservation of Nature held these days in Marseille, France, to make us understand other effects resulted from human catastrophic activities.

Biopersity dwindles as distinction threatens about one million animals and plants within the frame of what is called by scientists the Sixth Mass Distinction.

Climate change affects negatively the future of species, especially those animals and plants that localize in tiny islands or in some hot spots of biopersity.

When the world system began to fear at proliferating of the atomic bomb and nuclear arms, binding pledges were imposed by law, most important of their principles defined by the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons that negotiated in 1968.

That treaty was inked then to lay two pivotal understandings: nations acquire the bomb pledge to relinquish it and the non-atomic nations pledge not to seek to possess it.

It is important that those pledges bring fruits as only a few countries join the atomic club but at the cost of their peoples.

And in my opinion, we should measure the dangers of lethal weapons along with human activities devastating the world climate as the activities are major catastrophes and both of them need to uproot the problem.

If humans can think of this aspect, it will make the implementation of the international treaties regarding climate is an obliging matter and lead the coming generations to safety.
