Queen Elizabeth II will spend Christmas Day with Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, Sky News reported on Thursday.

It was planned that the Queen would spend the holiday with her daughter Princess Anne and her husband Sir Timothy Lawrence, before both the Royal Princess and her husband isolated after Lawrence tested positive for COVID-19.

The 95-year-old monarch II will not travel to Sandringham where she used to spend her annual Christmas time, staying at Windsor Castle instead.

The Royal source explained that there is rising concern over the situation of the Omicron Coronavirus variant that surges across all United Kingdom’s regions.

In addition, the palace started imposing more protective measures to protect the Queen and the Royal Family members, for example, the Queen canceled her annual Pre-Christmas family lunch.

The 95-Year-old-Monarch canceled her traditional Pre-Christmas family lunch for the second year in a row amid the emergence of the Omicron variant in the UK last week.

It was expected that the lunch would be attended by several royals and it would be hosted at the Windsor Castle instead of Buckingham Palace.

Royal sources told ABC News: “The decision is a precautionary one as it is felt to put too many people’s Christmas arrangements at risk if it went ahead,” adding, “While there is regret that it is cancelled, there is a belief it is the right thing to do for all concerned.”

This Christmas could be hard for the 95-year Monarch as it is the first one after the death of her Majesty’s husband, Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philp last April at the age of 99 years old.

However, Buckingham Palace didn’t announce with who the Queen will spend her Christmas this year.

Recently, since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK two years ago, the Queen, her late husband Prince Philip, and a limited number of Royal staff members are isolated in Windsor Castle.

It is worthy to mention that the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton hosted a Christmas event at Westminster Abbey last week.
