Buckingham Palace released on Tuesday a statement on the behalf of Queen Elizabeth II commenting on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey.

She said: "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan."

Regarding the issues tackled in the interview related to race, Her Majesty described them as "concerning," adding: "While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately."

Finally, the queen asserted: "Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."

The high anticipated interview Winfrey's with Harry and Meghan was aired on CBS on Monday.

Meghan touched upon several sensitive issues related to the skin colour of the couple's son Archie, the royal titles, a rift between Meghan and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, and the suicidal mood she experienced.

The interview put the whole Royal Family in one of the worst crisis in history in decades the departure of Princess Diana.
