Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, arrived in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, on Friday to meet with the Ukrainian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to discuss several important issues.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry stated that the visit is part of Qatar's efforts to calm and address the humanitarian consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
The statement added that Qatar will renew its call for the necessity of respecting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, and upholding the United Nations Charter and the established principles of international law, including the commitments under the Charter to settle international disputes by peaceful means.
The visit will also discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations, particularly Qatar's developmental efforts in Ukraine and prospects for cooperation in various fields, as well as supporting efforts to extend the Grain Initiative to enhance global food security.
