Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed on Monday that the unjustified aggression against Iran is baseless, stressing that Moscow will make efforts to help the Iranian people.
During his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, who arrived in Moscow on Monday, the Russian president said, according to the Russian news agency Sputnik, that the Iranian foreign minister's visit to Russia will allow us to discuss and consider how to resolve the current situation in the Middle East. He explained that Russia's position on the escalation of the situation between Iran and Israel is well-known and is reflected in the Russian Foreign Ministry's statement. He noted that Russia and Iran have long-standing, good, and reliable relations, and "for our part, we are making efforts to help the Iranian people."
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressed Tehran's gratitude to Moscow for condemning the actions of Israel and the United States against Iran, adding that Tehran considers the actions of the United States and Israel against Iran illegitimate, and that defending the Islamic Republic is legitimate.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Moscow on Sunday for talks with President Vladimir Putin today and is scheduled to meet with a number of senior Russian officials.
