Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that Moscow will respond immediately to any attempt from abroad to prevent the military operation launched at dawn today, Thursday, against targets in Ukraine.

In a message he addressed to the Russian people on the occasion of the launch of the special military operation, Putin said: “I now address some very important words to those who may be tempted to interfere in current events in Ukraine: whoever will try to obstruct the  Russian measures as well as pose a danger to the state or the Russian people.

Putin stressed the other countries should know that Russia's response will be immediate and will lead to results that those countries opposed to Russia have not faced.

He continued to say that Russia is ready for any developments, and all the required decisions have been taken in this regard.

He added that    hopes the West will hear his words."
