Several thousand people gathered in 60 Spanish cities yesterday, Saturday, to protest the war in Gaza and defend peace and the Palestinian people, and also against US President Donald Trump's plan to displace the people of Gaza, under the slogans "Palestine is not for sale", and "For a just peace, a free Palestine, a final ceasefire, no terrorism and no genocide", according to the Spanish newspaper El Publico.
The newspaper pointed out that in Juan Goytisolo Square in Madrid, the Stop the War initiative gathered hundreds of people, while the Red Solidarity Against the Occupation of Palestine organization raised a large Palestinian flag in front of the US embassy in the capital.
The demonstrators chanted slogans such as "Palestine is not for sale, Palestine must be defended." Many intellectuals participated in these protests, including the director of the Louis Pascal Theater, who denounced the "crazy decisions" taken by the President of the United States regarding Palestine, and presented a video presentation in which artists such as Miguel Rios and Rosalyn performed a song.
The demonstrators said that "European countries are not up to the task and continue to trade with Israel when they should have boycotted it."
Sixty Spanish cities joined this day of protests, including Cordoba, Granada, Seville, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Soria, and Valencia. In the three Basque capitals, dozens of people demanded "a final ceasefire and a response to the genocide committed by Israel
