Egypt are set to host Senegal in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers play off, set to take place at Cairo Stadium on Friday, March 25th.
The second leg will take place on Tuesday, Match 29th in Senegal.
Ahly playmaker Magdi Afsha was recalled to Egypt’s squad for a World Cup qualifying playoff against Senegal but there was no room for teammate Mohamed Sherif despite his fine goal-scoring run of late.
Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz also included three new faces in his 23-man roster for the anticipated two-legged clash — Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim, Pyramids FC full-back Omar Gaber and midfielder Nabil Emad.

Marwan Hamdy, who was born on November 15th, 1996, is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Egyptian Premier League club Smouha the Egyptian national team.
He made his debut for the the Pharaohs in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification against Comoros away in November 18 2019.
He joined Zamalek in 2021, before moving to Smouha on loan at the end of the same year.
