Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Brazilian counterpart Jair Bolsonaro discussed the importance of resuming grain exports to prevent a global food crisis.

"I had a conversation with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and briefed him on the situation at the front," Zelensky wrote in a tweet via the social networking site Twitter, according to the Ukrainian (Ukrainform) news agency.

"We also discussed the importance of resuming Ukraine's grain exports to prevent the global food crisis," he added.

Zelensky called on all partners of Ukraine to join the sanctions against Russia.

While the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres, warned that hunger in the world cannot be avoided without food products and fertilizers from Russia, and the return of grain from Ukraine to world markets, according to Russia Today.

Guterres said that the world is at risk of starvation in many areas this year. The situation may be worse next year but we can avoid this catastrophe if we act now.
