President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud signed the joint political declaration to raise relations between the two countries to the level of a strategic partnership.
President Sisi welcomed Somali President Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, and the delegation accompanying him during his visit to Egypt, stressing the deep ties between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
President Sisi added, in a joint press conference with his Somali counterpartd, that they discussed various regional issues and developments, the Horn of Africa region, and the security of the Red Sea, and they agreed on the need to maintain security in the region.
