President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with the UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, on the sidelines of the “28th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change” in Dubai, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic said.
He added that president Sisi and the UK prime minister discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, and political coordination, and exchanged visions on various files of common interest, as both sides appreciated the close ties between Egypt and the United Kingdom and affirmed their aspiration to further activate them at all levels.
The official spokesman added that the meeting focused on exchanging visions regarding developments in climate action in light of the holding of the climate summit in Dubai, in addition to developments in the current situation in the Gaza Strip, as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom praised the tireless efforts undertaken by Egypt in this regard.
The two sides agreed on the seriousness of the current situation, especially in light of the impact of the consequences of expanding the circle of conflict on the stability of the region. In this regard, the President reviewed the efforts made by Egypt, stressing the necessity of providing the necessary protection for civilians.
