President Sisi, Jordan's King Affirm Complete Rejection of Military Escalation in Gaza

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call , Friday, from King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan.

Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the Presidency stated that the call dealt with ways to strengthen bilateral relations and joint cooperation between the two countries in light of the historical bonds of brotherhood between the two countries.

The call also included discussion of the latest developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip, where the intensified efforts aimed at a ceasefire were reviewed, and the two leaders discussed efforts to implement aid in light of the significant deterioration in the humanitarian situation in the Strip. 

They also affirmed complete rejection of the escalation of military operations due to its repercussions on the security and stability of the region as a whole.

During the call, the two leaders stressed that a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue represents the basis of any efforts to restore peace in the region, by declaring an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
