Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, where the two leaders held a closed bilateral session, followed by an expanded session with the participation of the delegations of the two countries.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, added that the President and the Jordanian King discussed developments in the situation in Syria, stressing the importance of supporting the Syrian state, and the necessity of preserving the unity of Syria, the integrity of its lands, and the security of its people.
They also stressed the importance of starting a comprehensive political process that does not exclude any party and includes all components and sects of the Syrian people.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic indicated that the discussions focused on regional situations and efforts to coordinate positions, especially with regard to developments in the Palestinian territories, where the two leaders stressed the necessity of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy added that the two leaders discussed the situation in Lebanon, as the two leaders welcomed the ceasefire agreement, stressing the necessity of implementing Security Council Resolution No. 1701.
