President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and First Lady Entissar El-Sisi hosted a dinner on Sunday evening in honor of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain at the Giza Plateau during their state visit to Egypt.
According to Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, President El-Sisi welcomed the Spanish monarch and described the visit as a boost to the strategic partnership between the two countries.
King Felipe expressed appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality extended to him, the Queen, and the accompanying delegation. He described the bilateral talks held earlier with President El-Sisi as fruitful and a step forward for cooperation on several fronts, especially with shared perspectives on regional and international matters.
The two leaders also discussed economic ties, investment opportunities, and tourism cooperation. President El-Sisi spoke of the longstanding cultural partnership dating back to the 1960s and the importance of expanding collaboration in archaeology, joint cultural initiatives, and academic exchange.
Tourism was another focus, with both sides expressing interest in increasing travel between the two countries, especially with the upcoming opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
After the dinner, President El-Sisi and the First Lady accompanied the royal couple on a guided tour of the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. They posed for commemorative photos and received a short briefing on the historical significance of the site.
