Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stressed the shared stance of Egypt and Türkiye on the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an end to Israeli aggression in the West Bank.
This meeting marks a significant step in strengthening ties between the two nations as they navigate complex regional challenges.
President Sisi, during his first official visit to Türkiye, expressed his enthusiasm about ushering in a new phase of cooperation between the two nations.
He noted that Egypt-Türkiye relations have steadily improved in recent years, especially given the growing regional challenges that require joint efforts. Both leaders emphasized the need for closer collaboration, particularly on peace and security matters in the region.
President Sisi arrived in Ankara on Wednesday for this important state visit. He was greeted at Esenboğa Airport by President Erdoğan, accompanied by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin.
After a brief meeting at the airport, both leaders traveled to the Turkish Presidential Complex, where they will co-chair a high-level meeting of the Türkiye-Egypt Strategic Cooperation Council.
