President Sisi Addresses Christmas Speech

President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi has extended his warm Christmas greetings to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, the Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, on the occasion of Christmas. He acknowledged Pope Tawadros' sincere commitment to the nation.

In addition, President Sisi conveyed his greetings to the Coptic Christian community on the joyous occasion of Christmas, expressing his wishes for good health, peace, and joy in the coming year. He prayed for happiness not only for them but for everyone worldwide.

During his visit to the Nativity of Christ Cathedral in the New Administrative Capital to offer his Christmas greetings, President Sisi shared his hopes for the year ahead.

He expressed his desire for an end to the challenging period that the world has faced since around 2020, marked by difficult circumstances and crises. He specifically hoped for a resolution to the major crisis in the region.

While attending the Christmas Mass, President Sisi conveyed his respect and esteem for His Holiness the Pope. He expressed optimism that the upcoming year would bring joy and resolution to the significant crises.

He prayed that these crises would not escalate or persist. He emphasized the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank as one of the most pressing concerns.

He assured that Egypt maintains a respectable stance and works towards, at the very least, achieving a ceasefire and providing assistance to alleviate the suffering of those in Gaza.

The Egyptian president stressed the importance of finding a lasting solution to the recurring issue that causes pain to everyone.

The Christmas Mass was presided over by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, at the Nativity of Christ Cathedral in the New Administrative Capital.
