President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted to his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron the necessity of a ceasefire in Gaza for protecting the civilians, and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to the strip.
The discussions between President El Sisi, and President Macron came during a phone call from the French President to President El Sisi, according to the Presidency Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy.
Fahmy said that both leaders reviewed the outcomes of the intensive talks and diplomatic moves to control the escalations in Gaza.
On his side, President Macron hailed the role of Egypt in the political and humanitarian domains, in addition to its efforts in delivering aid to Gaza, treating the Palestinian injured, and receiving foreign passport holders.
Both leaders also agreed upon continuing the coordination and cooperation regarding the developments in the Middle East and urging all parties to reach a solution for peace, including the two-state solution.
