On Thursday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a phone call with the newly-elected Cypriot President Nicos Christodoulides for congratulating him on his victory in the presidential elections.
Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said that President El Sisi wished the best of luck and success to his new Cypriot counterpart and more progress and prosperity for his country.
In the same context, the two leaders praised the deep-rooted ties between the two Mediterranean countries.
In addition, they expressed their wish to deepen the strategic partnership to fulfill the hopes of the two people of reaching stability, security, development, and prosperity regionally, and globally.
Fahmy added that President El Sisi expressed his appreciation to the former Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades for his efforts in strengthening the mutual ties between Egypt and Cyprus.
