Portuguese President Hails Egypt's Participation in Ciência 2022

Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa praised Egypt's effective participation in the Science Conference (Ciência 2022 ).

The President highlighted Egypt's historical contribution in the scientific field from the ancient era until now.

In like manner, the Portuguese Minister of Science, Technology, and Higher Education thanked Egypt for its active participation in the conference proceedings, looking forward to further cooperation between the two countries in this field.

Ambassador to Lisboa, Wael Al-Najjar, delivered a speech during the conference, in which Egypt participated as a guest of honor this year. He stressed the depth of bilateral relations between Egypt and Portugal, especially in the field of higher education and scientific research as the main drivers of digital and green transformation in the post-COVID pandemic world.

Egypt took part in the conference with a group of the most prominent scientists and researchers in the fields of medicine, environment, space, agriculture, and smart cities. The participation comes in line with its keenness to support and enhance cooperation in the scientific and research field with Portugal, being one of Egypt’s most important partners in the European Union.
