Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, received on Saturday a phone call from Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, in which he congratulated him on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr.
Pope Tawadros II expressed his sincere congratulations to the Grand Imam and all Muslims on this occasion, wishing good health, peace and stability for all Egyptians.
On his part, the Grand Imam expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Pope Tawadros II, wishing Christians wellness and good health , and our dear Egypt stability and prosperity, stressing Al-Azhar’s pride in the relationship among Egyptians; Muslims and Christians, which stem from a correct understanding of the religion.
