The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo affirmed on Monday that the US administration is ready for any scenario regarding President Donald Trump's illness, as well as any hostile action from foreign countries in this regard.
Pompeo said in a press statement: "We are fully prepared for all scenarios that may take place", explaining that Trump held a meeting (virtually) on Sunday from the hospital, with national security officials, pointing that the US President "spoke with the entire team responsible for national security", according to RT.
The US Secretary of State was asked whether any foreign country could take advantage of Trump's illness, he replied: "The whole team is ready .... We know that there are hostile countries in the world. The United States is completely ready, and the State Department and our diplomats are ready."
"Today I contacted General Mark Milley (highest-ranking and most senior military officer in the United States Armed Forces) and everyone is ready", he added.
Trump's condition has improved and was seen leaving Walter Reed where he had received medical care after testing positive for Covid-19.
His departure came after a tweet in which he promised his supporters outside Walter Reed Hospital in Maryland to make a “surprise visit.”
The US president thanked the hospital staff and his supporters who carried flags and started cheering to encourage him while leaving the hospital.
