Polling stations in France closed on Saturday evening, marking the end of the second and final day of voting for Egyptians abroad in the 2025 House of Representatives elections. Voting concluded at 9 p.m. Paris time, following two days of balloting designated for Egyptian expatriates.

The Egyptian community in France witnessed an active turnout, with many voters heading to cast their ballots throughout the day. Among the participants was the “Youth of Egypt in France” association, which had called on Egyptian residents across the country to take part in the elections through an announcement on its official Facebook page. The group also organised a youth gathering to encourage political participation and support the electoral process abroad.

Embassy and Consulate Open Doors for Voters

The Embassy of Egypt in Paris and the Consulate General in Marseille opened their doors early on Saturday to receive voters from different French cities, in accordance with the schedule set by Egypt’s National Elections Authority. Both missions had put in place extensive logistical and organisational measures to ensure a smooth and accessible voting experience, including facilities aimed at easing the process for citizens travelling from distant regions.

The Embassy in Paris issued a statement via its official social media accounts urging eligible voters to participate in the parliamentary elections, which were held at the embassy premises from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on 21 and 22 November.

Second Phase Covers 13 Egyptian Governorates

In its statement, the embassy noted that the second phase of the House of Representatives elections involves constituencies across 13 governorates: Cairo, Qalyubia, Dakahlia, Menoufia, Gharbia, Kafr El-Sheikh, Sharqia, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai, and South Sinai.

Voting abroad for this phase took place on Friday and Saturday, 21–22 November, while runoff voting—if required—will be held on 15–16 December 2025.

Following the closure of the ballot boxes at 9 p.m. local time at the embassy’s polling station, the vote-counting process officially began.
