Prime Minister (PM) Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting today to follow up on the implementation of customs clearance of goods at ports, as well as the procedures for activating the pre-shipment system.
The meeting was attended byLieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, Engineer Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Mohamed Abu Moussa, Assistant Governor of the Central Bank,Mr. Essam Omar, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Al-Shahat Ghatouri, Head of the Customs Authority, Ms. Mona Nasser, Assistant Minister of Finance, Ms. Amani Al-Wassel, Director of the Export Development Fund, Engineer Mohamed Fathi, Deputy Minister of Transport for Maritime Transport, Mr. Ahmed Al-Asqalani, Head of the Central Administration of Foreign Trade.
At the outset of the meeting, PM stressed the government's continuous follow-up on the customs clearance of goods at various Egyptian ports, which is part of the government's current agenda.
Moreover, he explained that the banking system provides the required foreign currency to clear various goods and commodities.
For his part, Mohamed Al-Homsi, PM's office official spokesperson , stated that the meeting indicated that the customs clearance of goods is going very well; without any complaints
The spokesperson added that the meeting reviewed the value of the registered and cleared goods at the customs ports.
It was also emphasized that the total value of the strategic goods and commodities cleared has increased due to the availability of foreign currency in recent weeks.
