PM Chairs First Cabinet Meeting to Address Electricity Crisis, Load Shedding

Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Mostafa Madbouly held his first meeting following the announcement of new cabinet formation to review the measures being taken to resolve the electricity issue and stop load shedding.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Sabah Mashaly, Deputy Minister of Electricity, Eng. Gaber Desouki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, Eng. Yassin Mohammed, Chairman of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company, Ashraf Abdullah, Assistant Minister of Petroleum for Financial Affairs, Shereen El-Sharkawy, Assistant Minister of Finance, as well as officials from the relevant ministries and authorities.

During the meeting, Madbouly stated that there are several issues of concern to the Egyptian citizen, expressing his gratitude to the President for renewing his confidence in him.

Moreover, Madbouly emphasized his commitment to selecting competent individuals who can fulfill the President's directives.

Furthermore, Madbouly stated that the government is continuing to encourage the role of the private sector and reduce government investments as a share of total public investments.

He also added that the government is working on curbing inflation, controlling prices, and increasing growth rates.
