The bomb cyclone turned rivers into gushing flood zones, prompting the evacuation of thousands of people in towns with a history of deadly mudslides, and storm surges prompting hurricane warnings.

Since the extreme weather began last week, at least 14 people have been killed in the state, including two people died by falling trees.

Meteorologists expect the rain to continue throughout Tuesday after up to 14 inches of water fell on central and southern California.
