The minister was accompanied by officials from the Ministry and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), as well as officials from Shell and Petronas, the complex's partners.

During the tour, the Minister emphasized that the Idku complex is one of the cornerstones of Egypt's oil and gas infrastructure, enhancing Egypt's role as a regional hub for energy trading and receiving.

Badawi indicated continued cooperation with investment partners in the petroleum sector to increase production rates by accelerating the implementation of field development plans and exploration and research operations, contributing to enhancing local production and meeting market needs.

During the tour, Mohamed El Bahnasy, Chairman of the Egyptian LNG Company, and the team gave a presentation on the complex's capabilities and advanced infrastructure, which serve the strategy of enhancing Egypt's role as a regional hub for receiving, trading, and trading energy.

He indicated that studies are underway to add regasification facilities to receive LNG imports, convert them to a gaseous state, and pump them into the national grid. This will add significant value to the complex, which is managed within the framework of a successful partnership between the Egyptian petroleum sector and major international companies, most notably Shell, Malaysia's Petronas, and France's TotalEnergies.
