Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawi held Sunday a bilateral discussion session with Lorenzo Simonelli, Chairman and CEO of Baker Hughes.
Baker Hughes projects in various activities of the oil and gas industry and its future plans to develop business were reviewed during the meeting, especially in the fields of production from mature fields in cooperation with the private sector to maintain the sustainability of securing fuel and natural gas supplies to the local market, whether by increasing local production or benefiting from Egypt's role as a regional energy center.
On his part, Simonelli pointed to the successful and fruitful partnership with the Egyptian petroleum sector, pointing to the important role played by the Egypt Digital Exploration Platform, which provides distinguished investment opportunities and contributed to the company achieving several successes during the recent period, noting that Baker Hughes has plans to cooperate with partners and the private sector in the field of geothermal energy in the Gulf of Suez, Sinai and the Eastern Desert.
