Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza Strip and Israel agreed on a ceasefire beginning at 10 p.m. local time, Egypt’s Extra News TV channel reported on Saturday.
According to it, the agreement was reached with active mediation by Cairo.
The fighting resulted in the killing of 33 Palestinians inside Gaza, including at least 13 civilians. Two people were killed by rocket fire in Israel, including an 80-year-old Israeli woman and a Palestinian man from Gaza who had a permit to work in Israel.
The latest violence erupted on Tuesday when Israeli air strikes killed three senior Islamic Jihad commanders.
