Palestine Condemns Israeli Raids on Gaza, Cancels Eid al Fitr Celebrations

On Monday, the Palestinian presidency condemned the Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip and ordered the cancellation of Eid al Fitr celebrations.

The presidency held the Israeli government full responsibility for the escalation and crimes committed in the Gaza Strip and Jerusalem.

It called on the international community to act quickly and put an end to these crimes committed against the Palestinian people.

Moreover, it affirmed that Israel must cease its crimes that aim to turn the holy city into a Jewish city and dispossess families from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

Accordingly, President Mahmoud Abbas issued orders of cancelling all celebrations marking the end of Ramadan Eid Al-Fitr holiday, which coincides either Wednesday or Thursday.

A a result of the recent developments in Jerusalem and Gaza, flags to be flown at half-mast in mourning for the dead in the Israeli strikes in Gaza today, according to WAFA news agency.

Meantime, about 20 people, including nine children, were killed on Monday in an Israeli airstrike on the northern Gaza Strip, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza.

An Israeli drone fired missiles at a group of people east of Beit Hanoun, killing 20. In addition, 65 others were injured, three of them are in critical situation.
