Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, extended his warm congratulations to his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, and to the people of Egypt on the historic election of Dr. Khaled El-Anany as Director-General of UNESCO.
In a statement, Dar said: "Heartiest congratulations to my brother, Foreign Minister H.E. Badr Abdelatty, and the brotherly people of Egypt on the historic UNESCO Director-General election. Winning by a remarkable 55–2 margin, this would mark the first time an Egyptian & Arab is set to hold this post."
He added: "Look forward to continued Pak–Egypt cooperation at bilateral & multilateral fora. "
