Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held high-level talks with an Iranian delegation in Islamabad, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening regional stability.
The Iranian delegation was led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly, accompanied by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
During the meeting, Sharif welcomed Iran’s participation in the Islamabad Talks and stressed Pakistan’s determination to continue playing a constructive mediating role to help advance meaningful outcomes that serve both regional and global peace.
Senior Pakistani officials attending the meeting included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
The talks come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions in the region, with Islamabad positioning itself as a facilitator of dialogue between key regional players.
