The governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan in Pakistan have issued directives to shut down markets, wedding halls, and restaurants early as part of a national energy conservation plan.
According to a notification issued by the KP Chief Secretary, as reported by Pakistan’s "Geo News" network, markets, shopping malls, commercial establishments, and nighttime sporting activities in provincial centers have been directed to close by 9:00 PM local time.
The notification further specified that markets and commercial centers in all other districts must close by 8:00 PM.
Additionally, the provincial government has ordered all restaurants, cafes, and small eateries to shut down, while allowing home delivery and takeaway services to continue.
These restrictions also extend to private offices, banks, educational institutes, shops, and gyms.
