The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has strongly condemned what it described as a “blatant and unprovoked act of war” by the Indian Air Force, accusing India of targeting civilian areas inside Pakistani territory using standoff weapons.
In a statement released under Press Release No. 126/2025, the Foreign Office stated that Indian forces struck civilian areas across the international border in Muridke and Bahawalpur, and across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kotli and Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The attacks reportedly resulted in the martyrdom of several civilians, including women and children, and posed a serious risk to commercial air traffic.
The Ministry denounced the strikes as a “cowardly action” and a “flagrant violation of the UN Charter, international law, and established norms of inter-state relations.”
The statement further accused Indian leadership of exploiting the recent Pahalgam attack to revive its “sham narrative of victimhood,” warning that this approach undermines regional peace and stability.
“India’s reckless action has brought the two nuclear-armed states closer to a major conflict,” the Ministry warned.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s sovereign rights, the statement declared that Islamabad reserves the right to respond at a time and place of its choosing, in line with Article 51 of the UN Charter and international law.
The government emphasized that the people, armed forces, and leadership of Pakistan remain united and will respond with “iron resolve” to defend the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
