The number of people displaced by violence within Sudan has more than doubled in the past week to over 700,000 in light of the continuing fighting between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, Paul Dillon, a spokesman for the International Organization for Migration (IOM), said.
"The number of internally displaced persons in Sudan has more than doubled in the past week," Dillon told a news conference in Geneva.
Last week, the organization announced that the number of displaced people inside Sudan had reached about 340,000.
