Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi said the latest round of negotiations between the United States and Iran achieved “significant progress,” fueling cautious optimism about the possibility of a future agreement.

Iranian media reported positive signs following the conclusion of the Geneva talks, with state television saying indicators suggest the two sides are moving closer to a deal. The Iranian delegation was seen leaving the negotiation venue after the session ended.

Iranian state TV also rejected reports that Tehran intends to transfer enriched uranium outside the country, stressing that Iran remains committed to its established position on the nuclear file.

Al-Busaidi confirmed that the current round of talks between Washington and Tehran has concluded, noting that further consultations will take place in the relevant capitals. He added that negotiations are expected to resume soon, with technical meetings scheduled next week in Vienna between the American and Iranian sides.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported that the meeting in Geneva between U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi took place within a “courtesy framework,” indicating it did not amount to expanded direct negotiations.
