Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi announced that a new round of negotiations between the United States and Iran will take place in Geneva next Thursday, in the latest effort to advance diplomacy between the two sides.
In a post on social media, Albusaidi said he was pleased to confirm that the talks will now be held in Geneva, noting that there is a positive push to make further progress toward reaching an agreement.
Oman has long played a mediating role between Washington and Tehran, particularly on sensitive files including the Iranian nuclear programme and regional de-escalation efforts. The upcoming meeting is expected to test whether both sides are prepared to narrow remaining gaps after months of heightened tensions and indirect contacts.
