The Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary in the Cabinet Katsunobu Kato said on Sunday that the Olympic Games could be organized without audience attendance if the COVID-19 infections continue its rising.

He added that if Japan sees more rise in the virus infections, it will impose more restrictions including preventing any crowds.

In the same context, the Japanese authorities will discuss all issues related to the Olympics.

A few days ago, Japan decided to ease COVID-19 restrictions in nine regions amid the upcoming Olympic Games, media agencies reported on Thursday.

However, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga announced that quasi-emergency restrictions will be kept in other seven regions including Tokyo.

Moreover, Suga urged the Japanese to support the games by watching the games from home.

He described: “It’s important to hold safe and secure Tokyo Games, curb the spread of infections during the period and prevent the spread of infections after the Games.”
