OIC, YÖK Sign Cooperation MoU on Education

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Council of the Higher Education (YÖK) of the Republic of Türkiye signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of Higher Education, on the sidelines of the 51st session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, being held in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the OIC General Secretariat by His Excellency Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Khokher, Assistant Secretary General for Science and Technology.

Haldun Göktaş, Deputy President of YÖK signed on its behalf.

This strategic partnership aims to foster institutional collaboration among higher education institutions in OIC Member States, particularly in areas of scientific research, knowledge-sharing, and academic development.

The MoU provides a framework for facilitating academic exchanges, joint research initiatives, capacity-building programs, and increased networking between universities in Türkiye and those across the OIC Member States.

The agreement also envisions the mobilization of scientific and research resources, facilities, and expertise available within Member States.

The signing of this MoU reflects the shared commitment of the OIC General Secretariat and the Republic of Türkiye to advancing higher education and scientific excellence across the Islamic world, while strengthening the bonds of partnership and solidarity among Member States.
