The Department of Humanitarian Affairs of the OIC, represented by Dr. Aisha Shami Alayafi, Director of Humanitarian Affairs, and Mr Aliou Diallo, Professional Officer, held an online meeting with a delegation of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) of the Republic of Türkiye comprising Mr. Uğur Tanyeli, Head of Department of Foreign Relations and Partnerships, and Mr. Mehmed Taha Doğan, Expert at the Department of External Relations and Partnerships at TIKA.
Both sides discussed the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between OIC and TIKA on 5 June 2024 and agreed on the convening in 2025 of an important capacity-building program on Disaster Risk Reduction.
The two delegations also explored the possibility of conducting joint activities including the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the OIC countries affected by humanitarian crises.
