The Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, H.E. Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakhit, received in his office the Executive Director of the Islamic Solidarity Fund (ISF), Mr. Mohammed bin Sulaiman Aba Al-Khail, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed prospects for enhancing the existing cooperation between the two sides and strengthening joint coordination in support of OIC Member States affected by humanitarian crises, with the aim of ensuring a more effective humanitarian response.
Ambassador Bakhit praised the sincere efforts exerted by the ISF in assisting those affected by disasters and humanitarian emergencies, as well as its developmental contributions.
He stressed the importance of continued voluntary financial support from Member States to the Fund, as it serves as a vital humanitarian arm of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Ayash, Director-General of the OIC Office in Afghanistan, and Dr. Aisha Al-Ayafi, Director of the Humanitarian Affairs Department at the OIC General Secretariat.
