The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) praised a consultative meeting of foreign ministers from Arab and Islamic countries held in Riyadh, describing it as a step toward strengthening coordination to safeguard regional security and stability.
In a statement, the OIC General Secretariat said the March 18, 2026 meeting, hosted by Saudi Arabia, reflects a shared commitment to dialogue and cooperation amid rising tensions in the region.
The organization strongly condemned what it described as continued Iranian military attacks against member states, calling them violations of sovereignty, international law, and the principles of the United Nations Charter. It also denounced the targeting of civilian infrastructure, including airports, ports and energy facilities.
The OIC reaffirmed solidarity with affected countries and warned of broader consequences for global security, energy markets and economic stability. It called for an immediate halt to hostilities and urged adherence to United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, while emphasizing the importance of peaceful dialogue and regional cooperation.
