This came in the speech delivered by the Deputy Minister of Tourism during the Indian tourism promotion event organized by the Indian Embassy in Cairo on Thursday evening in the presence of a number of officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and more than 100 representatives of airlines, travel agencies and social media influencers.
El-Bahar also highlighted the distinguished relations that currently link the two countries, which have been upgraded to the level of strategic relations.
She added that Egypt, like India, has great tourism potential characterized by diversity and ancient civilization.. pointing out that India enjoys cultural richness and offers multiple forms of tourism, including for Egyptians.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism expressed her happiness to participate in today's event, which comes within the framework of enhancing tourism cooperation between the two sides, reviewing the memoranda of understanding signed between the two sides in the tourism sector.
For her part, C. Shoshma, Chargé d'Affaires of the Indian Embassy, stressed the interest of her country's government in promoting tourism relations between the two countries, noting that the numbers of tourist flows between the two countries do not rise to the enormous tourism potential of Egypt and India.
She also confirmed that work is currently underway to increase direct flights between Egypt and India, in addition to those currently available, as there are direct flights Cairo-Delhi and Cairo-Mumbai.
The event, which began with the playing of the national anthems of Egypt and India, included a display of the most important tourist areas and diversity in India as a tourist destination that welcomes the world through a rich mix of diverse cuisines, arts, crafts, music, nature, landscapes, tribes, history and adventure sports.
