Egypt Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs received a delegation from social media application “TikTok”, during its current visit to Middle East region.
During the meeting, they discussed latest developments regarding “No Place Like Egypt” initiative launched by Makram via the ministry’s social media official pages on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
The initiative aims at promoting tourism in Egypt, and delivering the real image of our motherland through Egyptian expats.
The minister confirmed that Egyptians abroad are the best ambassadors to their country; in addition, they play a key role in defending their state against all malicious rumours.
On his part, Hany Mohamed, general supervisor of the “Tiktok” App content development in North Africa, said that the initiative has achieved a tremendous success after gaining around 17 million views in less than a week.
Moreover, he added that the initiative received more than 2200 videos from Egyptian expatriates talking about their country's charming and historical sites.
In addition, the Tiktok officials hailed the campaign, describing it as an “out of the box” idea that would have its fruitful effects on the Egyptian tourism sector.
Noteworthy, this initiative not only aims at promoting tourism in the state, but mainly to preserve the national identity of Egyptians expats and their significant role in supporting their homeland.
