Israel’s public broadcaster reported on Sunday, citing a security source, that no country has so far agreed to join the stabilization force planned for Gaza as part of the second phase of ongoing arrangements.
According to the report, the proposed force was intended to help maintain security and stability in the Gaza Strip during the next stage, amid discussions over post-conflict governance and security mechanisms. However, the security source said efforts to secure international participation have not resulted in any commitments to date.
The broadcaster added that the absence of international agreement reflects ongoing uncertainty among regional and international actors over conditions on the ground in Gaza, as well as concerns related to security risks, political responsibilities, and the lack of a clear mandate for the force.
The report comes as diplomatic efforts continue over the future of Gaza and the implementation of subsequent phases, with security arrangements remaining one of the most contentious issues.
