Universal Pictures and Sentient Entertainment are collaborating on a remake of the 2001 psychological horror film “The Others”, which starred Nicole Kidman.
The reboot is in development after Universal Pictures optioned the rights to “The Others” from Sentient.
The original film revolved around a woman living in a darkened old family house with her two photosensitive children, later on, she came to believe that their residence is haunted.
It was written and directed by Alejandro Amenábar. The film also starred Fionnula Flanagan, Christopher Eccleston, Elaine Cassidy, Eric Sykes, Alakina Mann, James Bentley, and others.
The original film received many praising over Amenábar's directing and screenplay, as well as the musical score, atmosphere, and Kidman's performance.
