Neymar Leads Brazil to Win over Peru, Approaches Pelé's Record

Brazil's football star Neymar scored a hat-trick on Wednesday leading his national team, to a 4-2 victory over Peru in the South American qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

With this victory, Brazil topped the South American qualifiers table with 6 points from 2 matches, on a goal difference, than Argentina, who beat Bolivia 2-1.

At the same time, Neymar's International goal-score rose to 64 goals, surpassing Brazilian legend Ronaldo, who had scored 62.

Neymar is now ranked second behind Pelé (77 goals) in the Brazil's national team's top scorer list throughout the ages.

Celebrating his second goal against Peru, Neymar, 28, pointed with his fingers the number 9, Ronaldo's shirt number with the Brazil national team back when he used to play, and waved his index finger simulating Ronaldo's celebration routine after scoring.

After the clash, Neymar wrote on his official Facebook account: "All my respect to you, the phenomenon Ronaldo Nazário."

Brazil and Argentina top the South American qualifiers, as they have won their first two matches, while Paraguay is 3rd with 4 points.
