Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has appointed counselor Said Maree as the new Head of the Supreme Constitutional Court.
"Counselor Maree has sworn-in before El Sisi on Thursday," said Spokesman of Presidential Office Bassam Radi.
"President El Sisi met with the new Head of the Supreme Constitutional Court," Radi said.
"El Sisi praised the Egyptian Supreme Constitutional Court's well-established judicial experience."
"The president stressed the importance role of the Court in preserving the constitutional and legal system, monitoring the constitutionality of laws and preserving public rights, freedoms and duties," Radi added.
It is worthy to mention that, Sisi bestowed the Order of the Republic, First Class, to former head of Supreme Constitutional Court, Chancellor Hanafi Ali Gebali..
Sisi expressed his sincere appreciation to Chancellor Gebali for his great efforts and dedication in law enforcement, the protection of justice and the preservation of the rights of society and citizens.
