The new teaser began in a peaceful and quaint with Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) writing to Mike (Finn Wolfhard), saying it has been 185 days since they saw each other.

It also saw Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) and Will (Noah Schnapp), as well as Eleven in school, claiming that she actually enjoys it now. Of course, this seems to be an exaggeration, as she is picked on by her new schoolmates.

Nonetheless, Eleven is still excited that soon she and Mike will soon be having the “best spring break ever”, however, what follows next was a montage of explosions, gunshots, fire.

In a recent interview, Wolfhard confirmed that the “best spring break ever” that the gang is looking forward to will be much darker than they hoped.

“Every season it gets darker. Really, I will say with Season 3 I was like, this is the darkest season that there will ever be, like the exploding rats and everything," he noted.

Wolfhard continued that the upcoming season will be the darkest season there has ever been.

"Every year, it gets amped up. Every year it gets funnier and darker and sadder, and everything. Every year, they amp it up," he added.

The streaming giant also released a brand-new poster for Stranger Things, created by series mainstay Kyle Lambert.

The poster showcased the various locations that appeared throughout the show can be seen such as the Hawkins High and Hawkins National Laboratory, and wayward Demogorgans.

It also featured a small skyline of Chicago, presenting a call-back to the pisive but underrated Season 2 episode “The Lost Sister.”

Eagle-eyed fans also noticed members of the Party in a few spots in the poster, riding their bikes and dressed as Ghostbusters.

The poster also featured the new Byers household that was introduced a while ago as well as the Russian facility that Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is being held in.

Season 3 featured the gang having an epic showdown against the Mind Flayer at the pristine Starcourt Mall, in July 1985.

The series closed with Hopper seemingly dead, the Byers family leaving town, and the Russians’ facility destroyed.

The first glimpse of Season 4 was released on February 14, 2020, and teased the return of Hopper.

The new season is set to debut in 2022 and will feature the return of regulars Millie Bobby Brown, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, and Joseph Quinn.

“Stranger Things” started production on Season 4 in early 2020 but suspended shooting a month later due to the escalating coronavirus pandemic. It resumed last September.

The Duffer Brothers developed the series as a mix of investigative drama alongside supernatural elements portrayed with childlike sensibilities.

They set the series in the 1980s and created an homage to the pop culture of that decade. Several themes and directorial aspects were inspired and aesthetically informed by the works of Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, and Stephen King, among others, including several films, anime, and video games.
