Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren announced that the Netherlands will allocate €250 million for the purchase of artillery ammunition for Ukraine, as reported by "Russia Today".

Ollongren stated on her "X" social media account on Friday: "The Netherlands is dedicating €250 million as part of the Czech initiative to supply a significant quantity of artillery shells to Ukraine."

She added that the Netherlands would also provide Ukraine with fast boats, including 14 airboats and combat boats.

Earlier, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte had declared that the Kingdom plans to allocate over €100 million to support the Czech initiative to purchase artillery shells for Ukraine.

Overall, the Netherlands is expected to dedicate €2 billion to aid Ukraine in 2024.

The initiative, announced by Czech President Petr Pavel during the Munich Security Conference, aims to secure hundreds of thousands of shells that can be purchased from other countries and swiftly transported to Ukraine, provided that the necessary financial guarantees from partners are available.
