Netflix has unveiled its fourth-quarter 2024 earnings, highlighting a robust performance with over $10 billion in operating income and a 16% revenue surge.

However, the announcement comes with less favorable news for subscribers: subscription prices are increasing across multiple markets, effective immediately.

In a statement to shareholders, Netflix cited ongoing investments in programming and enhanced value for members as the rationale for the price adjustments.

The price hikes affect various plans in the US, Canada, Portugal, and Argentina.

The Standard plan with ads has risen from $7 to $8 per month, while the ad-free Standard plan increased from $15 to $18.

Premium subscribers, who enjoy 4K Ultra HD and HDR streaming, will now pay $25 monthly, up from $23.

Additionally, the cost of adding an extra household member has increased from $8 to $9 per month.
